Artful Dodger Clothing was founded by Scott Langton in 2005, and was originally sold in boutiques and specialty stores throughout both the UK and the U.S.A. before becoming one of the hottest brands in the urban apparel market.
The name for the brand came about from British colloquialism, Artful Dodger meaning someone who is skilled at escaping the consequences of his or her misdeeds; the phrase has since become well known throughout the world through the works of Charles Dickens Oliver Twist, in which the Artful Dodger is a criminal mastermind named Fagin, who employs children to commit crimes such as theft or violence on his behalf.
With a strong emphasis on Victorian design with a modern twist, Artful Dodger specialise in high quality products with innovation in design as well as strict attention to detail and a genuine love for their work. With full awareness of the power of design, Artful Dodger offers a vast array of intricately patterned products, all containing fresh designs that stand out from the crowd in a world where hoodies reign supreme.
The time and effort that goes into Artful Dodger clothing becomes visually apparent upon first glance of their garments. Their products range from stylish and sophisticated clothes to intricately designed, high quality street wear.
Since their formation in 2005, Artful Dodger has gone onto become one of the leading distributors in hip-hop/ urban apparel with a wide selection of unique designs and stylish products available to anybody with a flair for creativity.
“Artful Dodger to me was the beginning of a journey to create what I wanted to create rather than creating things that somebody else kind of wanted to create. So Artful dodger is a labour of love to just create great clothing, great tailoring, premium denim, innovative sportswear, and make it the way I want to make it.” Scott Langton
In 2007 Scott Langton sold Artful Dodger for over $15 million dollars to Shawn Carter, a.k.a. Jay-Z, which served to bring Artful Dodger to a much wider audience. Now Artful Dodger clothing can be seen in almost every major city throughout the world, with a fan base that is growing by the day; Langton still has a place within the company and is now the creative director and head designer for the brand.
“Artful Dodger is an incredible brand with a lot of room for growth and Scott Langton is a visionary designer, they represent what’s next and new in fashion and we are glad to have both the brand and Scott as a part of our family. Artful Dodger represents the first of many acquisitions that will begin
to shape our joint venture with Iconix.” Jay-Z
Offering somewhat of a more sophisticated look in contrast to the mainstream urban outlets, Artful Dodger prides themselves on their products. The brand is becoming hugely popular around the world with more and more people looking for an alternative to commonplace brands such as Nike and Addidas.

It’s incredible, whatever your taste, whatever your style, New Era has something for you.
Located in Buffalo, New York, New Era has been going on for almost 100 years now and have become the leading manufacturer of baseball caps worldwide.
Whilst the name New Era has become synonymous with major league baseball, its roots have spread throughout the entire music industry; from country music to Rock & Roll, from R&B to Hip-Hop, New Era have managed to bridge the gap between so many worlds, thus becoming an unstoppable force within the fashion industry.
The list of high profile celebrities that have been seen wearing new era is staggering, from the music industry alone we have Beyonce Knowles, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Usher, 50 Cent, Wyclef Jean, Andre 3000, Big Boi, Snoop Dogg, Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z, Lil John, The Game, Pharell Williams, LL Cool J, Alicia Keys, Busta Rhymes, Chuck D, Big Daddy Kane, Ice Cube, Jay-Z, Puff Daddy, Ghost Face Killa, Fred Durst, Everlast, Chris Brown and Mya just to name a few.
From the acting community we have Chris Rock, Ashton Kutcher, Ben Afleck, Matt Damon, George Clooney, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Tom Cruise, Denis Leary, Bruce Willis, Will Ferrell, Tom Selleck, Nicolas Cage, Owen Wilson, Luke Perry and even the legendary Walter Matthau just to name a few; even filmmakers such as Michael Moore and Spike Lee have been seen wearing New Era.
New Era have even breached the world of politics through the likes of Bill Clinton, Hilary Clinton, John Kerry and Rudolph Giuliani wearing their caps (although it’s debatable as to whether that is a good thing or not); in fact, New Era have even recently released a collection of Barack Obama inspired caps.
The origins of New Era stem all the way back to 1920 when German immigrant Ehrhardt Koch borrowed $5000 dollars from his aunt in order to fund his first business, The E. Koch Cap Co. His aunt was forced to take out a second mortgage on her house in order to loan Ehrhardt the money, and in return he promised her that her children would always have a job. Ehrhard hired his sister Rose and his son Harold along with 12 other employees, and set about to create what would eventually become one of the largest brands in the world.
The company officially changed its name to the New Era Cap Company during 1922; whilst the mid 20’s did see a lot of business for New Era, it wasn’t until the 1930’s that the company really began to take off, partially due to the rising popularity of baseball. After entering into a number of contracts to manufacture sports caps for minor league baseball teams, New Era steadily grew a reputation for itself with the company motto being “Quality First, Quantity Will Follow”.
During World War 2 it became increasingly more difficult for New Era to find fabrics in order to create their merchandise, due to the fact that war rations had created a severe shortage. Coloured fabric was especially hard to come by, as such; New Era resorted to buying large quantities of uncoloured fabric on the black market, and then dyed it before assembly into baseball caps.
Shortly after the war ended, New Era officially released its first adjustable size cap in order to keep up with the vast number of orders coming in; Ehrhardt Koch was worried that they wouldn’t look as good as the fitted caps however the adjustable size version soon became so popular that it set the standard for most modern caps today.
In 1969 New Era even ventured into the space race by supplying unique, specially designed caps for the USS Hornet, the splashdown recovery ship for Apollo 11. Coincidentally, the launch was watched by US Vice-President Spiro Agnew, who stated that it marked a “new era of civilisation”.
Ranging from sportswear to urban fashion, New Era are undoubtedly the innovators in modern day head ware. Their products can be seen all over the world throughout urban, suburban and rural society, and are worn by every major-league baseball team and their minor-league affiliates all over the planet; in fact New Era are the only company to have been given exclusive rights to manufacture caps for every major team in the league.
With such an incredible history, and such a diverse selection of designs and styles, it’s easy to see why New Era has become so popular.
